Sigma Services has continually earned praise for outstanding project quality, performance, and professionalism on countless projects. Below are a few examples of the type of work we are able to perform.

General Construction Projects

  • U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC).
    Various construction projects and repairs throughout Southern California ranging in size and scope from $100K to $2M within the counties of Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, Imperial, and San Diego.
  • Renovation of PM36 Offices at Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu.
    This two-contract project entailed remodeling over 8,000 square feet of office space in a building built in the 1940’s. Construction remodeling included new exterior and interior windows, new flooring, drywall, framing, doors, an acoustical ceiling, cabinetry, vertical blinds, and office furniture; painting; and upgrading the electrical and HVAC systems.
  • Replace Glass Doors, Windows, and Control Valves for Building PH1435 at Naval Base Ventura County, Port Hueneme.
    PH1435 is a Bachelors Enlisted Quarters that is three-stories high with 187 rooms. The existing windows and store front entry doors were replaced with 204 anti-blast windows; the existing thermostats and control valves in each room were upgraded to provide a safer, more comfortable living environment.
  • Retrofit Elevators in Buildings 206, 220, 258 and 500 at VA GLAHS.
    The existing elevator cabs in these buildings were completely replaced and upgraded. New interior cabs, motors, shafts, control panels and HVAC were installed. All work was performed in fully occupied buildings while infection control procedures were tightly enforced.

Electrical Projects

  • Primary Electrical System Upgrade for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
    These projects involved upgrading the medium voltage electrical systems at VA Hospitals in West Los Angeles and Sepulveda.  Work included an electrical medium-voltage manhole survey, excavating, installing underground concrete-encased PVC conduit, replacing medium-voltage (5 kV) cables, and 5kV and 480V switchgear, coordinating and scheduling outages, testing
    and energizing the system. Sigma saved the VA an estimated $2 million in value engineering.
  • Various Fire Alarm System Upgrades for the VA Southern California Locations.
    Projects entailed installing a new fiber-optic backbone of five square miles, which included excavating, underground conduit, and fiber-optic cable to new fire alarm front-end equipment in over 40 various buildings. Also complete installation and replacement of fire alarm systems for the main hospital and facility support buildings at VA West Los Angeles, VA Loma Linda of new fire alarm syasl.
  • Retrofit Emergency Generator at the VA GLAHS.
    This project entailed installing a 1500 kW Caterpillar 3512A C-series diesel standby generator, concrete pad for the generator, medium-voltage automatic transfer switch, exterior pole light fixtures, medium-voltage cable, low-voltage and control wiring, underground conduit, and incidental materials for the generator installation, and relocating a tree and fence.

Solar Projects

  • Design-Build of Five 57.77 kW Photovoltaic (PV) Systems at Naval Base San Diego.
    Naval Base Coronado, and Naval Base Point Loma. This two-contract project involved erecting five steel carport structures with roof-mounted PV panels. The systems were tied into the electrical grid for emerging renewable rebates and incentives.
  • Installation of 97 kW Rooftop PV System at Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest, Marine Corps Station (MCS) in 29 Palms.
    This project entailed installing a 135 kW inverter and roof-mounted PV solar panels to three military tank carports.
  • Design-Build Installation of Parking Lot Solar Lights and 25 kW Rooftop PV System for the Marine Corps Reserve Center, Port Hueneme, CA.
    This project entailed fully designing, engineering, constructing, and installing a PV power processing system. Construction included installing three arrays totaling 135 PV panels, power processing equipment, and monitoring capabilities for electricity reimbursements. Six solar parking lot lights were installed on existing wood power poles.

REO Projects and Services

Field Service Management (FSM) Services supporting the states of Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Michigan, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Northern Texas with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (REO).
Our work is to efficiently manage and maintain real estate–owned (REO) foreclosed properties at the highest level of quality in order for the Asset Manager to quickly sell the properties interested home buyers.

In REO FSM, Sigma offers:

Meeting and exceeding the goals of facilities management, Sigma effectively and efficiently manages, directs, and controls the activities that preserve and protect government facilities. These activities maintain their operation, good condition, and value while minimizing liability due to health and safety issues, fire, flood, or other potential hazards.

We proficiently manage our employees and subcontractors to punctually deliver quality services. Whether working with government organizations or private entities, we also adeptly coordinate projects alongside building managers, employees, tenants, and other contractors to complete even the most complex projects.

Additionally, we knowledgeably use advanced planning tools and software applications that lay out involved projects by breaking down work, scheduling, distributing manpower hours per work element and effort, planning budgets, allocating resources, and tracking and controlling costs and schedules. With these automated tools, we can make sound management decisions and compensate for unscheduled developments if necessary.
